In 2010, about ten years into the Superhero movie boom, director Matthew Vaughn delivered Kick-Ass: a comedy, action movie that simultaneously spoofs the superhero genre while also belonging to it. It’s an R-rated, violent film but has plenty of laughs. Aaron Johnson is the titular Kick-Ass, a teenager who wonders why no one has ever tried being a superhero. So he decides to do it himself and gets in over his head. Chloe Grace Moretz is Hit-Girl and Nicolas Cage is her father Big Daddy, two vigilantes/superheroes who come out of the woodwork shortly after Kick-Ass does. How does it hold up? Check it out and let us know what you think of Kick-Ass!
