I Tell My Sorrows To The Stones.
If you’ve never read Titus Andronicus by William Shakespeare, do it. It’s messed up.
The movie Titus was pretty good but not as good as it could have been. I think the main problem with it is that the director (Julie Taymor) tried to modernize it… but not really. Like with the Hamlet that starred Ethan Hawke they made the King the President of the Denmark Corporation. I thought that was clever. But with Titus, it seems to take place in modern day but everyone still has the old titles and everything. I don’t know. It just didn’t work for me. I also get tired of seeing the “bad boys” dancing around to techno with their shirts off playing pool. They’re so crazy!!
Maybe if you don’t read the play first, you will enjoy the movie more. For me, I fell in love with the play and was a little let down by the movie.
I need to see The Lost Boys again.
I know that came out of left field, but I’m sitting here at work, at 5:30am (on a Saturday), watching CNN and it’s replaying the Larry King interview with Corey Feldman and Corey Haim and they were talking about The Lost Boys.
So there ya go.
